Obituary

Munson, Henry L. “Link” of Canton passed away unexpectedly on March 6th. Born in Norwood, MA on September 18, 1937, he was raised in Stoughton, a was a 48-year resident of Canton and lifelong summer resident of Mattapoisett. Mr. Munson was a graduate of Stoughton High School and earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University. A registered Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor, he co-founded Toomey Munson & Associates in Norwood, and previously worked at Norwood Engineering. He also served as Town Engineer in Stoughton, Sharon and Canton. Mr. Munson served as the past Treasurer and Worshipful Master of the Blue Hill Masonic Lodge where he was a recipient of the Joseph Warren Award. He served as President of the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church and served on the Board of Trustees. He was a Director of the Canton Historical Society.
Beloved husband of Carol A. (Shaw) Munson. Father of Pamela J. Johnson and her husband, Glenn E.J., of Shrewsbury and Jeffrey L. Munson and his wife, Angela, of Tewksbury. Grandfather of Samuel S. Johnson, Alessandra S. and Gabriella A. Munson. Predeceased by his beloved grandson, Kyle P. Johnson. Brother of Barbara L. (Munson) Wymer. Brother-in-law of Judith M. (Shaw) Walker, Dorothy L. (Shaw) and Norman A. Belanger, Nancy R. (Shaw) Grogan. Funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington Street, Canton Saturday morning at 10 am. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm. Burial in Canton Corner Cemetery.
