DEATH NOTICE
In New Bedford, March 6, 2017 James F. Katon, Age 70, passed away at home unexpectedly following a brief period of declining health. Jim was born in Dighton, the son of the late Louis & Helen (McGlaughlin) Katon. Jim was a resident of New Bedford and was formerly of Taunton. He enjoyed music, smoking cigars, going for rides and outings and being with his family and friends. James leaves his siblings, Louis R. Katon and his wife Joyce of Hilton Head, S.C., Michael Katon and his wife Sally of Falmouth, MA and Anne Thyrre and her husband Peter of Stuart, FL. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 10th at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton. Visiting hours are prior to the mass from 9:30-10:30 am. at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
