NEW BEDFORD — Rita Cabral, age 91, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Care One of New Bedford. She was the loving wife of the late Lionel Cabral and the daughter of the late Thomas Luke and Rose (Roderiques) Stenson.
A lifelong resident of this area, Mrs. Cabral worked for many years at Acushnet Company until her retirement.
Rita was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Leo Cabral of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren: Meaghan White and Jessica Cabral; as well as a great grandchild, Jack White. She was predeceased by her siblings, Shirley Ventura, Eleanor Souza and Thomas Stenson.
Burial will take place on Thursday March 9, at 11:00 A.M in Rural Cemetery. Those that would like to attend are asked to meet directly at cemetery. Arrangements were placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
