Anna C. (Dwyer) Kemp
Retired Polaroid Assembler

TEWKSBURY: Anna C. (Dwyer) Kemp, age 90, a resident of Tewksbury for 21 years, passed away at home in the care of her family and VNA Hospice & Palliative Care on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of Edward W. Kemp, who passed away in 1990.

Born in Boston on March 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Dwyer and the late Mary (Williams) Dwyer.

Anna was raised in East Boston, attended East Boston schools, and graduated from East Boston High School.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an assembler by the Polaroid Company in Waltham.

Anna resided in the Allston-Brighton area of Boston and Medford until moving to Tewksbury in 1996.

She was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club, the Tewksbury Senior Drop In Center, and the Tewksbury Red Hat Society.

Anna enjoyed the many activities offered at the Tewksbury Senior Center including crafts and line dancing. In addition, she loved baking decorative centerpiece wedding cakes.

She is survived by her son, Edward H. Kemp and his wife Carolyn of Tewksbury; three grandchildren, John Kemp and his wife Tina, Marcy Kemp, and Michelle Tavares and her husband Paul; four great grandchildren, Anna and Brandon Kemp, Edward and Maria Tavares; one sister, Margaret Kuhn of Dracut; two brothers, John Dwyer and his wife Marie and Albert Dwyer and his wife Rita all of Ft. Myers, FL; also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Anna was the sister of the late Mary Jelley, Eleanor Mattura, Joan Dwyer, James, Robert, Walter, and Larry Dwyer.

Calling hours are Tuesday, March 7, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will begin on Wednesday, March 8, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to VNA Hospice & Palliative Care, 199 Rosewood Drive, # 180, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the Tewksbury Senior Center, 175 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
