Obituary

William F. "Billy" Noone, a 4 year resident of Malden and former longtime resident of Rogers, Arkansas and former resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 73 years old.

Billy was born in Boston on November 23, 1943, a son of the late Wilbur Noone and Elizabeth (Gillespie) Noone. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1961. Billy enlisted into the United States Air Force on February 16, 1962 and served his country with honor and pride during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on February 15, 1966 with the rank of Airman Second Class. Billy furthered his education throughout his life and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from John Brown University. He worked for Walmart Corporation for over 20 years and retired as Director of Facilities at their Arkansas headquarters. Billy had a unique sense of humor. He was an avid gardener and also enjoyed swimming and traveling to his home in Vermont. Billy's passion in life was his love of animals.

Billy is the loving companion of Marilyn Haley. He is the husband of Alice (Hood) Noone. He is the father of Melinda Houston and grandfather of Charlotte and Christopher. He is the beloved brother of the late Claire Schraffenberger, Mary Brooks, Linda Kelly, James Noone and Walter Noone. He is also lovingly survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, many friends and his beloved dog Buster.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Billy's Funeral on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial is private. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
