Obituary

Warren A. Flanders, 80 lifelong resident of Derry, NH died Wednesday March 1, 2017 at the Concord Hospital, Concord, NH. Warren was born in Manchester, NH on July 30, 1936, a son of the late Prentice and Alice (Normandeau) Flanders. He served with the US Marine Corp during the 1950’s. Warren was employed for B & G Specialty Co. in Derry for many years. He retired in 1998 from Allen Motors in Derry where he worked as a salesman. He was a former member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Derry. He was also a former member of the SPEBSQSA also known as the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. Warren was a craftsman, using scroll work to make clocks and portraits.

He is survived by his stepson, Ronald Lee of Acworth, GA, his stepdaughter, Sandra McKenney of Allenstown, NH, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two brothers, Lester Flanders of TN, and Bruce Flanders of FL, one sister, Mary Meroff of Dover, NH, and several nieces and nephews. Warren was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Elva I. (Pitt) Flanders in 2008 and by his brother, Wayne Flanders.

Calling hours were held on Sunday March 5, 2017 from 2 – 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Monday at 10:00am in the funeral home with burial that followed at Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
