Age 84 of St. Paul. "My Dad Finally Quit Working." Preceded in death by parents, William and Grace; wife, Marlys; second wife, Marlene; brothers, Richard "Pat", William "Curley"; sister, Donna; sisters-in-law, Patty and Phyllis; nephew, Dennis. Survived by daughter, Jacqueline (Ron Weibye); son, Michael; granddaughter, Ann Thoennes; great grandchildren, Eric, Natalie, Isabella, Michael, and Matthew; great great grandchildren, Alexa and Sophia; brothers, Paul (Shirley), and Michael; sister, Janet; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and very much loved sweetheart, Bernie Fredricksen. Served in the U.S. Army. John worked hard all his life at Petersen House Movers, Semple House Movers, Murphy Rigging and B & S Rigging. After retirement he started a landscaping business just to keep busy. He was also able to enjoy many winters in Bonita Springs, FL. Memorial Service Sunday (June 25, 2017) 11:00 AM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior to the Service. Celebration of His Life to be continued at the American Legion Post 39, 2678 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
