Obituary

Mr. Frederick R. Koerner, 64 of Lawrence, passed away on Saturday February 25th at the Hospice center at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, following a long illness. Born in Methuen on November 10, 1952, he was the son of the late William F. And Marian (Severin) Koerner. Mr. Koerner was educated in Methuen schools, and attended Middlesex Community College. He proudly served in the United States Army as a medical assistant and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Koerner worked for many years at the VA Hospital in Bedford till his retirement due to his illness. He enjoyed a good book, movies, cooking, Boston sports teams, music, and horse racing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Koerner was selfless, caring, and generous. He always had time to lend an ear, or to help others. He will be deeply missed by his son; Myles Duchesneau of Lawrence, one sister; Karen Dowd of Lawrence, two brothers; Daniel Koerner of Dracut, Bruce Koerner of Newmarket, NH, one nephew; Joseph E. Dowd III and his partner Sherri Wirth and their children Liam and Bryson of Raymond, NH. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the VA for their loving care and compassion. Their hard work and dedication is truly remarkable. Family and friends are invited to attend a grave side service at St. Xenia Cemetery 170 North Lowell St. (Rte 113) in Methuen on Wednesday at 9:00 am. Arrangements are under the direction of Edgar J.
