Obituary

Wilma Inez “Patsy” Yarbrough, 90, of the Lands Crossing community, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Ray Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Clements Family Cemetery, formerly Ebenezer Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Yarbrough was born December 5, 1926, in Omega, Georgia, to the late Edward & Velma Lucille Jacques Akridge. She was a homemaker and lived in the community all of her life. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and was known for her wonderful biscuits. Mrs. Yarbrough was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron. She was a member of Abba Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children: Donald & Ann Yarbrough of Grayson, Julian & Dianne Yarbrough of Fitzgerald, Oliver & Sally Yarbrough-Bryan of Fitzgerald, Kay & Lewis Fussell of Fitzgerald and Margaret & Russell Batten of Perry, Florida; daughter-in-laws: Linda Yarbrough and Beth Yarbrough, both of Fitzgerald, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Dean of Waycross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Vincent Yarbrough; two sons: Barry Yarbrough and Ernest Lee Yarbrough and a daughter, Dianne Kelley.
