FEELY, Dr. R. John, of Dedham, MA died on Saturday, February 18, 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 84. He was born in Providence, RI on June 9, 1932 to Richard John Feely Sr. and M. Carmelita O’Reilly Feely. John is survived by his wife Constance Lynch Feely with whom he shared sixty-one years of marriage in addition to a loving friendship that started in their youth. He is the beloved father of R. John Feely III (Stacy) of Hingham, MA; Luke J. Feely (Kate) of Nashville, TN; Mark G. Feely (Julie) of Libertyville, IL; Matthew S.A. Feely of Alexandria, VA, Mary F. Moriarty (Michael) of Dedham, MA; Alice F. Wilson (Joseph) of Milwaukee, WI; Jane F. Marinella (Joseph) of Franklin, MA; and Constance F. Giguere (Jeffrey) of Providence, RI. John has sixteen grandchildren. His sisters Breffney (Feely) Walsh and Aileen (Feely) Gadwah predeceased him. John attended Saint Sebastian’s grammar school, LaSalle Academy, and the College of the Holy Cross. After service in the U.S. Army, he attended Tufts Dental School. Upon graduation, Dr. Feely practiced dentistry in Dedham for forty-seven years.
There will be a visitation on Thursday from 4-7 pm at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM. On Friday, there will be a Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. Sebastian’s Church, 67 Cole Avenue, Providence, RI, the church where his journey of faith began. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 577326.
