Marie A. (Gleason) Barnicle, 95, of Natick died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her home.
She was the beloved wife of the late George F. Barnicle, Natick Police Officer who died in 1990.
Born in Natick and a lifelong resident she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Esther (Brannigan) Gleason.
Mrs. Barnicle cared a great deal about the town of Natick and its residents, and was active in local politics as a Town Meeting Member from Precinct 8 for more than 40 years.
She appreciated nature, wildlife animals, gardening, enjoyed local sports teams, Red Sox, Bruins, and Doug Flutie.
Mrs. Barnicle was a graduate of Nasson College class of 1941 and Natick High School class of 1939.
She is survived by her four children James E. “Teddy” Barnicle of Natick, Kevin H Barnicle of Centerville MA, Patricia A McGillicuddy of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Susan Marie Barnicle of Natick, Grandchildren Ross, Eric, Tricia and Kevin McGillicuddy, Christopher Barnicle, great-grandchildren Kevin, Alexander and Wesley and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Robert, and Joseph Gleason and Dorothy Schell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday February 22 at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
