.Sara Grace Rawding (Cochrane) age 97 of Canton passed away at home February 18th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Montour, PA she graduated from Abington High School in Pennsylvania. Sara worked for Standard Press Steel Company during WW II on the Brown and Sharpes. She previously lived in Dorchester and has lived in Canton since 1950 where she was a member of the Community Club of Canton and the Canton Garden Club. She was the Den Mother for the Boy Scouts in the Ponkapoag neighborhood in Canton for many years. She was an avid Red Sox Fan, loved traveling to Cape Breton Island and enjoyed celebrating her birthday every year on St. Patrick’s Day. .
Beloved wife of the late Russell C., Sr. Mother of Russell C. Rawding, Jr. and his wife Pat, Nancy Kobs and her husband Fred, and J. Wesley Rawding and his special friend Karen Pignatelli, all of Canton and the late Robert A. Rawding. Sister of Jack Ferguson and Elizabeth “Betty” Klinger both of PA and the late William Ferguson. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the Congregational Church of Canton Wednesday at 12 noon. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday morning prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Congregational Church of Canton 1541 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
