Chanel F. Michaud, 87, of Torrington, CT, formerly of Methuen, MA passed away on February 16, 2017.
Chanel was born on May 31, 1929 to Alfred and Marie (Gregorie) Michaud in Lawrence, MA. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Chanel worked as a shipper for many years for the Lawrence Paper Board Company until his retirement. He was known as a compassionate and devoted family man, who had a fond love for the game of golf. His life touched many and he will be missed.
Chanel is survived by his loving son David Michaud and his wife Nancy of Methuen, MA and his devoted daughter Claire Marie of Torrington, CT. He was the loving grandfather to his nine grandchildren; Matthew and his wife Melissa, Melissa and her husband Anthony, Sarah, Christopher, Cynthia, Cameron, Samuel, Sage, and Patrick. Chanel was also the great-grandfather to Brandon and Lillian. He is also survived by his sister Bernadette Wood of Unionville CT, and his brother Charles and his wife Cathy Michaud of Arlington, MA. Chanel was predeceased by his wife, Claire R. (Gauthier) Michaud in 2013, his parents, his four children; his daughter Judith C. Reynolds, his daughter Carol Michaud, his daughter Diane Smith, and his son, Paul G. Michaud; and his five sisters and one brother; Lucille, Doris, Robert, Jeanette, Leona and Claire.
Visitation for Chanel will be held Sunday, February 19, 2017, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Friends and family are cordially invited. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 20, 2017, 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa's Church, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA. Interment to take place at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 N. Lowell Street, Methuen, MA.
