Philip Pintabona, III, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Marlborough Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Waltham, the son of Philip, Jr. and Josephine (Vincuilla) Pintabona and had lived most of his life between Waltham and Harvard.

He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Grace M. (Caruso) Pintabona; his brother, Richard Pintabona of Acton; his sister, Shirley Akins of Mashpee; and several nieces and nephews.

Philip enlisted in the Navy in 1951 and served aboard the USS Howard W. Gilmore (AS16). After serving his country, Philip went to work driving dump truck for his uncle’s and later became a mason tender for his father before retiring.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson. A committal service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends.org.
