Maria Correia (DaSilva) DaSilva, 76, of New Bedford died February 15, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, daughter of the late Anicetro and Angelina (Correia) DaSilva, she lived in Cape Verde before moving to New Bedford in 1997.
Maria was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dartmouth.
She enjoyed cooking and talking to family and friends.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Fatima Gomes DaSilva of New Bedford, Maria Conceicao Silva Alves of Portugal and Maria Jose Correia DaSilva of Brava, Cape Verde; 2 sons, Henrique Correia Gomes DaSilva and Jose Correia Gomes DaSilva, both of Praia, Cape Verde; a sister, Deolinda DosSantos of New Bedford; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Graciete Correia Gomes DaSilva and Amilcar Correia DaSilva and the sister of the late Pedro Correia DaSilva, Julio Correia DaSilva, Irene DaSilva Mendes and Autilio Correia DaSilva.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at 10 AM in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 Cross Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
