Rita Marie (Kuh-Orr) Stoop, age 58 of Prosser, entered into rest on February 10, 2017 at Chaplaincy Hospice Care in Kennewick. She was born on September 19, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Margaret Kuh. She was raised and educated in Washington, DC where she lived until moving to Toppenish in 1993. Rita and Joe Stoops were married on July 10, 1995 in Reno, Nevada. In 1999 the couple settled in Prosser.
Rita worked as a Software Proposal Manager at Unisys Corp for fifteen years. She enjoyed playing the guitar, writing, knitting and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Catholic Church and Prosser Theatre Organization.
Rita is survived by her husband, Jose Stoops; her son, Peter Stoops, both of Prosser; her brother, Jerome Kuh of Seattle; and sisters, Mary Ambulos of Martha’s Vineyard, Anne Kuh and Audrey Kuh Straight, both of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Monica Hogue.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 23rd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at Prosser Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22nd from 4:00-7:00 pm. Recitation of the Rosary will begin 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Joe Stoops.
