John J. Luongo, III of Melrose died on Saturday, February 11. Raised and educated in Medford, he was the son of John J. Luongo Jr. John worked as a supervisor for the MBTA, and was a Melrose resident for the past 26 years.
John was the beloved husband of Christina (Castillo), and the devoted father of Tara Luongo of Saugus, Adrienne Luongo of Malden, Jeana Luongo, Renee Luongo and her Fiancee Robert Ferdinand, all of Melrose. He was the loving grandfather of Robert Ferdinand, nephew of Lee Luongo of Medford, and cousin of Leanne, Eric, Gino, Nadia, Rocco, Joe, Karen, and Donna.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, February 18 at 8:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Mary Church, 46 Myrtle St., Melrose, at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, February 17, from 4 through 8 PM. Interment will be private.
