Obituary

Lawrence E. “Larry” Smith, 56 of Fall River, formerly of Whitman, passed away Sunday, February 12th in the Charlton Memorial Hospital after a year long battle of cancer. He was the husband of Maureen (Clancy) Smith.

He was born in Brockton, son of George Smith and the late H. Virginia “Ginny” (Parker) Smith, he grew up in Whitman and was a Whitman-Hanson graduate.

Larry was a truck driver for many years for the Sea and Shore Contractors and had enjoyed driving “Big RED”.

He loved spending time with his wife Maureen and their dog “BOBO” also he was fan of the Patriots and Red Sox.

In addition to his wife Maureen he is survived by his father George Smith of Hanson, his Sister Terri Savage and her husband Malcolm of Hanson, his nephews Michael Savage and his wife Tia of NH and Christopher Savage of Hanson, his great nephew Tanner Savage of NH also uncles, aunts and cousins.

His funeral services will be held on Saturday February 18th at 3:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-3:00PM.
