WESTPORT… Claire (Vezina) Jusseaume, 76, of Westport passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Romeo and Laura (Garant) Vezina. She had been a resident of Westport for the past 50 years.
Mrs. Jusseaume owned the former Beautiful Lady Salon in Westport during the 70’s. Since, she had worked as a Home Health Aide in the Fall River area and most recently she was the Activities Director at a local Elderly Day Care. She was a communicant of St. Bernadette’s Parish in Fall River. She volunteered at the V. F. W. in Westport, the Westport Food Pantry, called Bingo in the local community and wasn’t only a volunteer but sat on the Board of Directors for a Fall River Battered Woman’s Shelter.
Mrs. Jusseaume kept an immaculate, beautifully decorated house which she took the upmost pride in. She was always busy with various projects including needlework, furniture refinishing, scrapbooking and anything else creative in nature.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Whitman of Riverside, RI, her son, David Jusseaume of Australia, her former husband, Maurice Jusseaume of Westport, her sisters, Doris Aguiar of Westport, Loraine Langlaise of Somerset, & Annette Heath of Tiverton, her niece, Patricia Menard, 2 grandchildren, Erin & Ethan, several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Anita Cote.
Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Bernadette Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River, MA. Donations in Claire’s name can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or the American Lung Association, 1200 Hosford St. Suite 101, Hudson, WI 54016.
