Obituary

WORCESTER: Bridget P. (Kilcoyne) McKinnon, 85, died peacefully at home on Sunday morning, February 12, 2017. Her husband of 39 years, Francis J. McKinnon, died October 8, 1997.

She leaves three children, Bridget Ann Ferrazzano and her husband Thomas of Fitchburg, James A. McKinnon of Leominster and Donna M. McKinnon of Worcester; two sisters, Mary McLoughlin of Ireland, Nora Kilcoyne of England; three grandchildren, Shawn M. McKinnon, Kevin J. McKinnon and Kathleen F. McKinnon.

Another son, Francis J. McKinnon, Jr., died April 16, 2016. Two brothers, Anthony and Michael Kilcoyne, also predeceased her. She was born and raised in Louisburg, County Mayo, Ireland, daughter of the late Peter and Anne (Gallagher) Kilcoyne. She emigrated to Worcester in the early 1950’s.

Bridget worked as housekeeper at Holy Cross College for many years. She previously worked as a dietary aide at Westborough State Hospital and Hahnemann Hospital. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church, now known as Our Lady of Providence Parish. She enjoyed long rides in the country, going out to lunch, shopping, traveling to Ireland to visit with her sisters and touring the Irish countryside. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She will be remembered for being a caring, loving person and devoted wife and mother. She gave good advice and support to anyone who needed it.

CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on THURSDAY, FEB. 16, at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln Street. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 A.M. on FRIDAY, FEB. 17 at ST. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
