Obituary

HUDSON

Mary Grace (Martin) Catrambone, 61, passed away Friday, February 10th 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Daniel Catrambone; her mother, Barbara Martin; her sister, Barbara Cooper Colley; her brother, Francis (Buddy) Martin with his fiancé, Cindy Rooney; and her dear friend, Diane Martin all of Hudson. She also leaves her sister, Nancy Monahan with husband, James of Taunton and her sister, Patricia Martin of New Bedford. Mary leaves three children: her son, Daniel Catrambone with his wife of Las Vegas, NV; her son, Derek Catrambone with wife, Sarah of Orange and their son, Graham; and her daughter, Diane Zangarine with husband, Bill of Fitchburg and their son, William. She also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mary attended Hudson Catholic High School, was captain of the Green Wave girls’ basketball team and graduated in 1973. She played trumpet in the Hudson CYO, later known as the Royal Jade Drum and Bugle Corp, from 1965-1972. She went on to earn her hairdressing license from AVRTHS and worked in Brockton for a short time as a hairdresser. Mary drove a school bus for the SMOC program in Marlborough for a couple years. Then she found her true calling in home daycare. Earning her CDA in early childhood education, she spent 30+ years devoted to nurturing and educating children of Hudson and the surrounding area. Mary was very proud of her many awards and accomplishments while being a sales representative with AVON. She was a long standing member of the Catholic daughters of St. Michael’s Parish. She loved flowers and gardening, decorating, crafts, family vacations to Hampton Beach and Cape Cod and going on cruises with her husband Dan.

Mary’s life was devoted to spending time with her family. She was a very strong role model and mother figure to her five nieces, Julie Courchene of Worcester, Monica Courchene of Millbury, Tiffany Courchene of Lynn, Jessica Davis of Lynn and Danielle Davis of Columbia, MO of whom she and Dan cared for many years. She took a very active involvement in her children’s lives. She helped out with numerous spaghetti suppers and fund raisers, and went to every school function (rallies, concerts, plays and athletic events) the children were involved in.

She will be remembered most for her strength, kindness, generosity, devotion, sacrifice, creativity and determination. She meant more to us than words can say and will be missed terribly every day. “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard” (Winnie the Pooh)
