Obituary

Mrs. Anna Marie (Leary) Scully, a resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late David J. Scully, Jr., passed away at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Friday, February 10, 2017. She was 81 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on September 3, 1935, she was the beloved daughter of the late Patrick J. and Anna (Morse) Leary. Mrs. Scully was a graduate of Chevrus High School in Malden and had been employed at Murray's Stationery and Wards Gifts in Medford. A dedicated volunteer, Anna assisted at the St Francis Parish Food Pantry and the St Joseph's Parish Rectory. In her spare time, Anna enjoyed singing in the St. Joseph Choir and watching the Red Sox, especially David Ortiz. Above all, she was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving children; Mary LoPreste of Boxborough, Andrew Scully of Everett, Thomas and his wife Amy Scully of Bedford, Stephen and his wife Christina Scully of Harvard, Margaret and her husband Vincente Anchondo of Hope, NM and David H. Scully and his wife Laura Streelman Scully of San Diego, California. She is also survived by eleven cherished grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
