Gilford—Rita R. O’Brien, 82, of Weirs Road, died on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Mountain Ridge Center, Franklin.
Rita was born in Winthrop, MA, the daughter of Walter and Irene (Hurley) Mackenzie. Rita was the owner of Lee’s Trailer Park and also owned and operated the Cherrystone Restaurant in Gilford. Rita had been a resident of the Lakes Region for over thirty years.
Rita is survived by a step-son, James O’Brien Jr; a step-daughter, Elizabeth O’Brien; three step-grandchildren, Mary, Rory, and Meghan, and a sister Mary LaSala and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband James O’Brien, and her brother Walter Mackenzie.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held in the spring in the family plot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.
