PORT RICHEY, FL – Richard M. Albernaz, age 66, of Port Richey, FL & previously of Swansea, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday Feb. 1, 2017 in Florida. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Silva) Albernaz, formerly Uchman, and the son of the late Manuel & Georgina (Costa) Albernaz.
Prior to retiring, Richard was a truck driver for the US Postal Service in Boston and previously was a bus driver for Southeastern Regional Transit Authority for 9+ yrs. and for Peter Pan Bus Co. for 5 yrs. He was an avid NASCAR Racing fan, and also enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, & relaxing in his hot tub.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his Son: Richard E. Albernaz of New Bedford, MA; Stepchildren: Tammy Botelho, Kimberly Raposo, Chad Uchman, and the late Robert C. Uchman II; Siblings: Irene Mello & Robert Albernaz; Grandchildren: Ella Albernaz, Sarah Uchman, Rocky Uchman, Michael & Andy Lingley, Jennifer Uchman; Great Grandchildren: Elyjah Charette, Jayden, Jordan, & Jacob Lingley, Xavier Charette, Bryson Uchman; several nieces & nephews.
