Obituary

Cheryl Ann (Seulean) Calder, 65, of Anderson, died February 6, 2017 at her residence after a sudden illness.
She was born, December 29, 1951, the daughter of Valerie and Beverly (Douglas) Seulean.
She graduated from Madison Heights in 1970; attended Hanover and graduated from University of Texas in Arlington in 1977 with a sociology degree and Ball State University with a master's degree in early childhood education in 1985.
She was director of Madison County Youth Center from 1986 to 1998. Cheryl worked at Bronnenberg Family Services. She was a member of Disciples Women, Book Club, Morning Prayer Group; officer of Anderson Symphony Friends Board; one of the founders of C.A.S.A.; Alternatives, Inc., board of directors, Mayor's Committee Against Domestic Violence and Madison County Sexual Assault Task Force, member and past president of Soroptomist International of Anderson and Friends of Bill W.
In addition to many other community endeavors both in Indiana and Texas too numerous to name, she was a vital member and secretary of Central Christian Church for many years also serving on the Church Board.
She is survived by her sons, Jackson Clay (Anna) Calder, Josh (Nicole) Calder; granddaughter, Cate Calder; aunts, Fern Seulean and Anita Seulean and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two uncles, George and Augustine.
Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at Central Christian Church with Rev. Rick Vale officiating. Reception and calling at Anderson Center for the Arts immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Central Christian Church for distributing to local organizations for which she was involved.
