Gilford-----Clara Alice (Blodgett) Martineau, 91, formerly of Gilford, died on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Belknap County Nursing Home, Laconia.
Clara was born on March 19, 1925 in North Stratford, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Cheeseman) Blodgett. She attended North Stratford School, and after graduation, went to Western Union School, and then worked for Western Union for several years in Nashua. She met her husband, Maurice "Moe" Martineau, in Nashua, moving to Gilford in 1971. They owned and operated Trustworthy Hardware of Laconia for forty three years.
Clara is survived by a daughter, Pamela Langlitz and her husband, Mark, of Gilford; two grandchildren, Mark B. Langlitz and Kimberly A. Langlitz; a sister-in-law, Claire Sklutas, of Manchester; several nephews and nieces and a dear friend, Lucille Connell, of Hudson. In addition to her parents, Clara is predeceased by her husband, Maurice "Moe" Martineau, a brother, Clarence Blodgett, three sisters, Doris Hammond, Arvilla Strawn, and Rena Willis.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110, DW Highway, Boscawen, NH. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00am.
