Obituary

Gisela Rosa Paulauskas age 87, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2017 at the Baypointe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brockton. She lived formerly in Uxbridge, Mansfield, Canton and Boston. Gisela was the beloved wife, for 44 years of the late Kazys Paulauskas, and mother of IIona Paulaukas of Raynham, Thomas Paulauskas and his wife Nancy of Buckeye Lake, OH, Peter Paulauskas and his wife Susan of Lakeville, and Joseph Paulauskas and his partner Sean of Medford, and sister of the late Doris Gaertig. Gisela also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews.
From Braunschweig Germany, Gisela was born May 29, 1929. She emigrated to Boston in 1951 to begin a new life with her husband after having experienced the devastation of the Second World War. Devoted to raising her family, Gisela later embarked upon a professional career as a Trust Accountant, working for Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company, and for almost 2 decades, at Fiduciary Trust Company.
Gisela was an avid reader, played classical piano, enjoyed solving puzzles and had a special affinity for nature and animals. She met many painful life challenges with long-suffering and grace. Her gentle, kind and generous nature was evident to all who came to know her. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-7 pm. Funeral service and burial at Knollwood Memorial Park private. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of MA (m.alz.org/donate.asp)
