Obituary

Susie Hamlin, 78, Anderson, died at Community Hospital after an extended illness.
Susie was born in West Frankfort, Illinois, the daughter of Carl B. and June (Pyles) Williams. She graduated Anderson High School, as well as ASPN as an LPN. She worked at Community Hospital then at General Motors 23 years.
She enjoyed euchre, cooking, traveling, raising dogs, photography, and arranging flowers. Susie was a 50 year member of Women of the Moose, TOPS club, and volunteered for many programs at the Local UAW 662.
Susie is lovingly remembered by Jack “Speedy” Mead, companion for many years; son, John “Randy” (Elaine) Hamlin of Alexandria; daughter, Loraine LaPole; sister, Delores Mercer, Pendleton; two brothers, Don (Sue) Williams, Pendleton and Carl “Sonny”(Shirley) Williams; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah (Kristy) LaPole, Joseph LaPole, John LaPole, Elysse Hamlin, Heather (David) Godby, Rheanna Reed and Melissa (Rob) Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Dalton, Travis, Ethan, Aubrey, Kayti, Brayden and Lucas, several nieces and nephews and best friend Bonnie Fischer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tony J. Hamlin; and great-granddaughters, Jillian Reed and Kadence LaPole.
Visitation will be from 12 pm-2 pm on Friday at Crossroads United Methodist Church. The service will follow at 2 pm, with Pastor John Hackney officiating. A nursing Honor Guard Memorial service will take place at 1:45 pm.
Memorial contributions may be given to Crossroads United Methodist.
