Obituary

Robert L. Farese a local attorney and prolific outdoorsman, died peacefully at home in the company of his loving family. He was, age 67. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Louis and Geraldine (Giovanangelo) Farese. Robert graduated from Medford High School and Northeastern University. He played basketball throughout high school and college. He went on to graduate from the New England School of Law and was admitted to the Bar in 1980. A man of boundless energy, intellect and wide ranging interests, Robert practiced real estate law throughout his career and was involved with his family’s development firm, Farese Co. and with Elliott Realty. He worked in projects on Medford, Somerville, Cambridge and the Boston area. He served as President of the Middlesex Bar Association.

As a young boy he played the accordion and played professionally starting at the age of 12, entertaining people as part of a band at weddings, anniversaries, dances and social events. As a talented athlete, he played basketball with some of the greatest names of his era. Bob’s early successes in life and as an attorney were really secondary to his primary priorities in life: family, hunting and fishing.

A devoted and loving husband and father, Robert loved and cared for his family and those closest to him. He enjoyed time with his family and cherished his time with his grandchildren. Among his wide circle of friends he is best known for his knowledge and respect for nature, the outdoors and his devotion to outdoor sports. A serious and talented marksman and big game hunter, Bob’s passion for the sport brought him throughout the United States for big game hunting and fly fishing. His knowledge is legendary. A regular contributor to big game journals, Robert’s advice was sought after to the point that he considered making it his career. He was most recently a frequent and regular contributor to an outdoor sportsman’s blog. He was a long-time member of Ducks Unlimited and the Reading Rifle and Revolver Club.

The beloved husband of Susan K. (Dello Russo) Farese, he was a devoted father of Jennifer Farese of Medford and Robert Farese, Jr and his wife Sarah of Nashua, NH. The loving “bumpa” to Trey and Declan, he was a dear brother of Richard Farese of Naples, Fla, Michelle Mangano of Hopkinton and the late Geraldine Farese. Robert also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with his family, share memories and honor Robert’s life at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Wednesday, February 8th from 4 thru 7 PM.
