Audrey R. (Vannelli) DiFronzo, of Somerville, formerly of Boston’s North End, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, February 3rd at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 81.
Born in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rita (King) Vannelli, and attended local schools. She and her husband Peter married and began their family in Somerville, where she lived for thirty-seven years in the Ball Square neighborhood.
Audrey worked for Harvard University for twenty years, as a Medical Records Clerk. She loved her job and the people she was able to cultivate friendships with. Audrey enjoyed being in the presence of others and everyone loved her. She lived her life centered on caring for her family and friends and acts of kindness. Audrey was a generous and selfless woman, who cared for everyone. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. Audrey’s values and teachings will continue on through her family, friends and those who she touched.
Audrey was the beloved wife of Peter J. DiFronzo, with whom she shared many loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Michael DiFronzo of South Carolina, Michele Lindsey and her husband Steven of Tewksbury, Tracy Olson and her husband Ken of Acton. Audrey was the loving grandmother of Marissa, Nicole, Trevor, Jack, Liam and Michaela. She was the dear sister of Joseph Vannelli of Braintree, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Wednesday, February 8th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
