Lisa Santangelo Carberry passed away on February 2nd. She was 54.

The daughter of the late Lucio and Julia (DeMambro) Santangelo, Lisa grew up in Medford. She attended Medford High School and in 1985, graduated from Boston College with a degree in English. She leaves her husband, Walter J. Carberry, Jr., and their daughters, Angelica Rose and Aurora Elizabeth, her sister, Maria Santangelo and brother, John Santangelo of Arlington as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves sisters-in-law Miriam Chartier and Charlene Orso, of Greentown, PA and Wendy Delena of North Reading, the late Carole Greenwood of Billerica and Lenna Bablouzian of Arlington.

Lisa loved music of all types, especially Opera. Her family sang everywhere they went…in the car, on the bus in Disney World or on the T in Boston. There was always music playing. Family was always Lisa’s core thought. She rode bikes, kayaked, played board games, worked on puzzles and was always up for fun. She hid money in her car so they could always stop for ice cream. Two of her favorite places were Dennis where she owned a home, and Disney World in Orlando. Lisa did not grow up with a dog. She loved her Shih Tzu, Mittens. She enjoyed walking the Fellsmere with her dog and daughters.

She listened to audiobooks, was a history buff and was well read. Lisa prized education. Last year, she took a course on Illuminated Manuscripts at Boston College. She home schooled for several years and even studied transcribing court records.

Her notable qualities were that she was fiercely independent. She was profoundly caring. She shopped and cooked for her mother and sister for years. Lisa was a talented cook. She took great joy in providing love and laughter for her family. She simply adored being a wife and mother.
