Obituary

David N. Snow, Sr. age 87 of Webster, Mass. formerly of Ware and Brockton, died Thursday February 2, 2017 at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster. He was the loving husband of the late Shirley B. (Redmond) Snow. David was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Joseph L. and Sarah S. (Newcomb) Snow and lived in the city for most of his life before moving to Ware, Mass. over 20 years ago.

David attended Brockton schools and spent his early years at the Little Red School House now located across from Marciano Stadium. He left Brockton High School to enlist in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

A plasterer by trade, David worked for Hills Plastering Company for 38 years. Previously he was a landscaper with White’s Nursery. While living in Ware, David worked at Big Y Supermarket.

A very creative man, David loved to make miniature replicas with popsicle sticks and his projects were displayed around the city.

Though David loved to work, he especially enjoyed family gatherings where he would often dance on stilts.

David is survived by nine children Doreen Drake and her husband James of Mt. Vernon, Maine; Denise Missios and her husband Angelo of Brimfield, Mass; Darlene Hampton and her late husband Ernest of Brockton; David N. Snow, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Pembroke; Charlene Johnson of Brockton; Cheryl Melberg and her husband James of Brockton; Darin Snow and his wife Jeanne of Southbridge, Mass; Kevin Snow and his wife Carol of Radford, Virginia and Gina Snow of Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the brother of Sarah Carlson of Halifax, Mass; Timothy Snow of Brockton and the late Joseph Snow, Linwood Snow, Emery Snow, Alice Turner, Arnold Snow and Vernon Snow. He also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are omitted. Family and friends are invited to meet at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave. in Bourne on Tuesday February 7, 2017 at 9:45am for burial with military honors. David’s late wife Shirley will be buried with him at that time.
