Obituary


Anthony Teta, age 58, of Medford formerly of Boston's North End passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, January 26, 2017. Anthony was the beloved husband of Karen (Piazza) Teta with whom he shared nearly 33 years of marriage. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Rita (Serio) Teta.

Anthony was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Suffolk University. He worked for 30 years as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. Anthony also worked as a waiter for many years in various area restaurants. He loved baseball and the Boston Red Sox and was a big fan of the Boston Bruins. Anthony also enjoyed music especially Jazz.

Anthony will fondly be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, always enjoying a good laugh and joking around with his family and friends. Most of all he will be remembered for his genuine kindness.

In addition to his beloved wife Karen, Anthony is survived by his devoted and loving daughter Jessica Teta of Medford. He was the son-in-law of Frank "Sonny" Piazza of NH. Cherished brother-in-law of Andrea and Frank Fabiano of Medford and adoring uncle to their sons, Jason and Nicholas. Nephew of Eva, Anita and Rosemary. He is also survived by many cherished cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday, January 31st, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Stephen Church, 24 Clark St., Boston, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Anthony's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via www.jimmyfund.org/gift.
