Obituary

WEBSTER - Eugenia P. “Ginger” Kos, 96, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Webster Manor after a period of declining health.

She leaves several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Joseph, Walter and Edmond Kos and by 4 sisters, Katherine Piniarski, Mary K. “Mae” Piniarski, Stasia Mackowiak and Frances Mason.

She was born in Webster, the youngest of the 8 children of Wojciech and Pauline (Makara) Kos and lived here all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1938.

She worked as a rib reinforcer at Bates Shoe Company for 45 years, retiring in 1985.

“Ginger” was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica, and a member of its Sacred Heart Society, Saint Anne Society and the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club. She enjoyed crocheting, and playing bingo and cards.

The family would like to thank the staff at Webster Manor for their tender care and compassion for “Ginger” over the last 4 years.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 1, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be from 8:45 to 9:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to either Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, or to Webster Manor Resident Activity Fund, 745 School St., both in Webster, MA 01570.
