Obituary

On Monday January 23, 2017 Marilyn Hawley Schreiner, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 81. She was a long time resident of Santa Paula, California. Marilyn was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William and Marguerite Marsh on August 6, 1935. She moved to the county when she was 2 years old and grew up on her family’s walnut and citrus ranch. She went to high school at Saint Catherine’s Academy and graduated in 1953. She attended the University of Arizona. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, reading, lunches with her friends, gardening and was an avid tennis player up until her later years. She was a member of National Charity League, The Ventura County Museum and the Ventura County Agriculture Museum. Marilyn is survived by her sister Ann Wolff, children Bob Schreiner (Nancy), Lisa Pronovost (Marc) and Karen Kahn, grandchildren Lauren McGuire, James Schreiner, Kelsey Pronovost, Nathalie Pronovost, Megan Kahn, Katie Kahn and great grandchildren Colton Rubick and Maddie McGuire. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Schreiner, her parents and her brother Ted Marsh.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tuesday January 31, 2017 at 10am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Road Ventura. Interment will immediately follow in Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery, Oxnard. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the Ventura County Agricultural Museum.
