Brian Joseph McCarthy, 70, of Methuen, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lawrence on December 13, 1946, son of the late Joseph and Eileen Katherine (Batts) McCarthy. Brian was a 1964 Graduate of Lawrence High School, where he played Football, Baseball and after graduating he enjoyed playing Soft Ball. Brian served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked in banking as a Mortgage Broker for many years. Brian was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Sheila F. (Buckley) McCarthy of Methuen, MA.

Brian was predeceased by his brothers Kevin and Dennis and his sister Patricia Gurry.
Family and friends are cordially invited call on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 12:00 noon immediately following the wake. Burial will be private and take place at a later date.
