Sandra Yvonne (Cella) Scutellaro, of Somerville, formerly of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, January 18th at the Cambridge Hospital. She was 73.
She was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Dorothy (Alessio) Cella and a graduate of Medford High School. Sandra and her husband married on September 27, 1964 at St. Clement Church in Medford. The two built their family around love and devotion. Sandra worked as a commissary manager, within the food industry and loved all the people that she was able to meet and spend time with.
Sandra loved cooking and entertaining people. Her best dish was her red gravy and meatballs. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and traveling to Foxwoods. Her favorite card game was Scat. Sandra loved spending time with her dear friend, the late Margaret “Aunt Peggy” Dunton, who passed away in 2012.
Sandra was the beloved wife of the late Louis F. Scutellaro, who passed away in 2002, and the devoted mother of John L. Scutellaro of Somerville. The loving sister of Charles R. Cella, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Malden, Diane J. Brietzke of Medford and the late Alfred J. Cella formerly of Wareham. She was the dear aunt of many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Sandra was the cherished God mother of sixteen and is also survived by many loving friends and all her home care nurses.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Thursday, January 26th at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 through 8PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
