Lawrence Canterbury
Augusta, GA – Mr. Lawrence R. Canterbury entered into rest on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Mr. Canterbury was a combat veteran who retired from the United States Army after 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard L. Canterbury. Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Gerda Canterbury; sons, Russell Canterbury and Doug Young; daughters, Carolyn Johnson and Rachael Canterbury; and grandchildren, Garrett, Austin, Zachary, and Liam.
Lawrence was a state champion bowler, and former board member of the Augusta Bowling Association. He and his wife spent time traveling across the country participating in tournaments.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd., Augusta, GA 30906. The family will receive friends following the service.
