TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Rose Marie (Costanzo) Carciofi, age 95, an active member of Tewksbury’s senior community, died peacefully at her Eagle Landing home on Friday morning, January 20, in the loving care of her family, after a brief period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry M. Carciofi, who died in 1999.
Rose was born in East Boston, one of four children of the late Louis and Frances (Giardullo) Costanzo, and raised in Medford. She lived in Somerville several years, the greater part of her life in Billerica, and retired to the Eagle Landing development in 1999.
She was a communicant of St. William’s in Tewksbury and a former member of St. Theresa’s parish community in Billerica. She was a frequent visitor to Tewksbury Senior Center, where she enjoyed Bingo with her numerous friends, and held membership in the Tewksbury Golden Age Club. In her earlier years in Billerica, she was a Welcome Wagon Hostess for the community.
She leaves three sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Elizabeth (Higgins) Carciofi of Tewksbury, Paul and Priscilla (Bangs) Carciofi of Billerica, and Stephen and Sandy (Moore) Carciofi of TN; a brother, Anthony Costanzo of Woburn; five grandchildren, Laura Dillon and her fiancé Frank Brady of Chelmsford, David Carciofi and his wife Christina of Tewksbury, Christine Wood and her husband Paul of Chelmsford, Dawn Cashman of Chelmsford, Angela Lannan and her husband William of Billerica; thirteen great grandchildren, Alexandra, Olivia, Gracie, Holly, Owen, Lucy, Billy, Ben, Jack, Harry, Eve, Halle, and William; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her sisters, Christine Carbone and Eleanor Facchini.
Visiting hours Friday, Jan. 27, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her funereal will begin Saturday, Jan. 28, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury. Burial will be in Tewksbury Cemetery.
