Obituary

John B. “Brad” Folkes age 54 of Canton passed away January 17th by accident. Born in Framingham, he was raised in Holliston and graduated from Holliston High School, Wentworth Institute of Technology and Bay State School of Technology. Brad has lived in Canton since 1992 and worked as an HVAC Technician for Medford Wellington in Billerica for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and working in the yard. Beloved husband of Maria P. (Papakonstantinou). Father of Nicholas of Boston, Christina and Yanni Folkes both of Canton. Devoted son of Beverly Folkes (Pendelton) of Holliston and the late John J. Folkes. Brother of Jeanne Praetsch and her husband Steven of Holliston, Deborah DeGregorio and her husband Erik of Southboro and Brian Folkes and his wife Kathryn of Hebron, CT. Son in law of Nick and Simela Papakonstantinou of Canton. Grandson of Esther Folkes of Hudson. Brother in law of Sophie and Joseph Donovan of Canton. Beloved Uncle to 11 nieces and nephews and a wonderful friend to many. He loved spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee with his family. Brad always went out of his way to help others. He will be remembered for his quiet and kind nature, willingness to help anyone, his sense of humor, loving personality and beautiful smile. His happiness arose from the joy he brought to his loved ones especially Maria and his three children. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 2-6 pm. Funeral Service at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church Monday morning at 11:00. Burial will follow in the Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church 39 Belgrade Ave Roslindale 02131 or to the First Baptist Church 40 High St. Holliston, MA 01746.
