Edith (Coomer) Gowen, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Hosparus downtown. Born in Columbia , KY she retired from Pillsbury after 40 years of service and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlson Ray Gowen.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Van Meter; son, Danny Gowen (Sherry), sister, Vanola Estes; and brother, Floyd Coomer; grandchildren, Ryan, Miranda, Marissa (Jason), Lindsey (Justin) and Alaina; several nieces; nephews; family friends; and a special friend, Gertie Kepley.
Her visitation will be 2 pm to 8pm Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
Her funeral service will be 12pm Saturday, with visitation starting at 10am.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions be made to Hosparus in her honor.
