Obituary

born April 4, 1928 to Louella and Cordis Winstead. He retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department as a Project Design Engineer and later co-owned the civil engineering firm, James-Winstead and Associates. He served his country proudly in the Korean War and never forgot his fellow vets. He was a true Kentucky Wildcat fan and loved his children and his pets more than anything in the world. He is preceded in death by his parents Louella and Cordis Winstead, his son Troy Darst, and his wife Linda Winstead. He is survived by his children; Sharon Winstead-Kaelin (Frank), Carla Richardson (Bill), Victoria Schmied (Roger), Deborah Klicos (George), Neal W. Roberts, Bill Roberts, Christopher Darst, grandchildren; Richard Gibson, Amanda Roberts, Amy Roberts Hipps, Matthew Roberts, Hannah Walker ,Whitney Walker, Chris Walker one great-grandchild Lauren Gibson Sanchez. and one great great-grandchild Rosalie Sanchez and his dog Maggie. Visitation will be Friday January 20th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral service will be Noon Saturday at the Funeral Home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Special thanks to Wanda Snyder, Barbara Miller and Lakishia Thomas who took such great care of him, as well as Baptist Home Health for their continued support.
