Obituary

Victoria I. Degagner, a 50 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of New Bedford, entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her home in Charlestown following an extended illness. She was 75 years old.

Victoria was born in New Bedford on June 2, 1941, a daughter of the late Norman F. Degagner and Helena A. (Radziewicz) Degagner. She grew up in New Bedford where she was educated in the New Bedford Public School system and graduated from New Bedford High School. Victoria worked for several retail establishments in the Charlestown area. Victoria enjoyed helping people and had a heart of gold for anyone who was in need.

Victoria is the loving companion of 40 years to Hugh Carroll of Charlestown. She is the devoted mother of Theresa O'Neil-Deighton and her husband John of Florida, Dennis O'Neil and his wife Kathie of New Hampshire, John O'Neil of New Hampshire, Joseph O'Neil of New Hampshire, Patty McMillan of California and Norma Hickey of Boston. She is the loving Archa to Michael, John B., Randy and Omari. She is the beloved sister of Laura Ramshead of New Bedford, Barbara LeBlanc of New Bedford and the late Raymond Degagner. She is also lovingly survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Victoria's Funeral on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
