Joanne Frances (Novelle) McEnaney, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Thursday evening, January 5, 2017. She was 77 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Edna B. (Garwich) Novelle, step daughter of Denery Daigle. She was raised in Amesbury, with her sisters, the late Irene Novelle and Josephine (Daigle) Jacques and step-brother, Albert Daigle.
She was a graduate of Amesbury High School and the McIntosh Business College in Haverhill. Joanne married Robert Lounsbury and Arthur McEnaney, Jr. She is survived by her children, Lisa (Bourgoin) La of Damon, Texas and Deidra McEnaney of Saugus.
In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, country music, crossword puzzles, reading, crocheting and raising her grandson, Michael Mattinson of North Andover. She leaves her grandsons, Arkin and Kayden of Damon, Texas, Serena McKenney of Saugus and Michael Mattinson of North Andover. Joanne is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also the niece of the late Stephanie, Helen, Jenny, Blanche, John, Stanley and Walter. Joanne leaves her beloved dog, Junior. She was also the mother of the late Wayne Gariepy.
She was employed is several fields, including Secretary of Radio Station WNBP in Newburyport, Deputy Sheriff in Lawrence and Western Electric.
