Phyllis R. “Chickie” (Bozzi) Boyd, a life-long resident of Medford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11th at the Winchester Hospital. She was 81.
Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late David and Phyllis (Giannetta) Bozzi. Phyllis attended local schools, and attended Somerville High School. She and her husband married on October 20, 1956 in Medford. The two raised their family in Medford and built their home around love and devotion to family. Phyllis worked as both an administrator in data entry and a homemaker.
Her greatest hobby and life’s work was taking care of her family. She loved to cook and her children loved everything she made. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and was a big fan of using her kindle. Phyllis will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late S. Edward Boyd, with whom she shared fifty-six loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Paul, Phyllis and Lorene Boyd, all of Medford and the late Edward Boyd, formerly of Middleton. The loving grandmother of Jenna and Matthew Boyd, both of Middleton and Michael Boyd of CA. She was the loving great grandmother of Owen Boyd of CA, and the dear sister of Jacqueline Leary of Wakefield and David Bozzi of Rochester, NH. She was the caring aunt of Lynne Leary of Wakefield.
At the request of the family, services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Phyllis’ name to the St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
