Dustin James Smithurst, 27, of Gorham, NH died tragically on Monday morning January 9, 2017 of injuries received in a motor vehicle, pedestrian accident in Maine. He was born in Portland, ME on September 28, 1989, the son of Donna M. Beckwith Calvert and Wayne Smithurst and has lived in the Dummer- Berlin – Gorham area for many years with his cousins: Katie Bisson, Robert Bisson, Emily Bisson and Mary Bisson, Aunt Nancy Bisson and Aunt Valerie Hollinrake. Dustin was a graduate of Berlin High School, Class of 2008. He was a devout Christian who enjoyed teaching folks the Word of God and providing outreach services to the Homeless, exposing them to God's teachings. In his younger years, he enjoyed roller blading and ski blading, making many a crazy videos with his Cousin Robert. Dustin had most recently been a valued employee of the Holiday Inn in Portland, Maine. He had a phenomenal sense of humor, vibrant personality, and was adored by many.
In addition to the Bisson Family, he enjoyed spending time with his brother and sister-in-law John E. Calvert Jr. and Brandi Calvert, niece Taylor Calvert and nephew Hudson Calvert, cousins Kamdyn Jae Bisson Post, Harte Matthew Bisson Post and Jacob A. Beckwith Smith. Dustin was survived by his Aunt Shelly Beckwith Sylvester and family as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of his family.
He was predeceased by his parents Donna Beckwith Calvert and Wayne Smithurst, his grandparents Elizabeth and Arthur Beckwith and numerous Aunts.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 from 1 to 3 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH.
