Obituary

NATICK: Hilda R. (Cobb) Bertino, age 81, of Natick, died peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2017. She was the loving wife of Natale S. “Bert” Bertino for 62 years.

Born and raised in Roxbury, she was a daughter of John George and Alma (Joudrie) Cobb. In her youth, Hilda had lived on Mission Hill prior to her family relocating to Roxbury Crossing. She was a graduate of Girl’s Latin High School and was employed with Boston Edison prior to her marriage.

Hilda and Bert settled in Natick in 1960, where she created a warm and loving home for their growing family of six. She would later welcome grandchildren and great-grandchildren with an equal love and tireless devotion. A gracious and outgoing lady, Hilda seemed to know someone everywhere she went and it’s safe to say that they are all the better for having known her.

She is survived by Bert, their children Susan Larracey and her husband Tom of Ashland, Lynne Bertino-Williams of Natick, Steven Bertino and his wife Phyllis of Natick, Laura Bertino-Casper of Millville, David Bertino of Millville, and James Bertino and his wife Wendy of Ashland; her grandchildren, Andrew and Nichole and Benjamin and Stacy Larracey, Rachel and John Egan, Justin Williams and Kyle Henrich, Ryan Williams, Evan Williams, Sarah Bertino and fiancé Daniel Okin , Amanda Bertino, Ashley Bertino, Christopher Bertino, Melissa Casper, Nathaniel Casper, Anthoney Casper, Megan Bertino and Jenna Bertino; six great-grandchildren, Mia, Jack, James, Adam, Joshua, and Nadalia, soon to be joined by Cameron to make seven; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Sonny Joudrie, Earl Cobb, Dorothy Cobb, Edna Paige, J. Arnold Cobb, and Barbara Ritchie.

Visiting hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common on Thursday, Jan. 12th from 5 – 8PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Hilda’s funeral service and burial will be private. Gifts may be made in her memory to the Natick Community Organic Farm, 117 Eliot Street, Natick, MA 01760 (www.natickfarm.org).
