GILFORD - Robert Paul Elliott, 77, of Varney Point Road - Left, formerly of Wilmington, MA., died Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Goldenview Health Care Center in Meredith.
He was born on August 25, 1939 in Cambridge, MA., the son of the late William and Kathleen (Leahy) Elliott. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps reserves. He worked as a Firefighter for the City of Cambridge, MA. for 33 years before retiring to New Hampshire. He was a lover of Scottish heritage and enjoyed attending Scottish Highland Games with his sons. He had a love of history and was an avid New England sports fan. Robert enjoyed westerns and military movies. He especially loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sports games.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Pfleger) Elliott of Gilford, two sons; John Elliott of Nashua and David Elliott of Derry, two daughters; Mary Nottebart and her husband Donald of Pelham and Cynthia O'Connell and her husband Sean of Methuen, MA., four grandchildren; Taylor, Kassandra, Joshua and Cameron, one brother, William Elliott and his wife Paula of Waltham, MA., his step-mother, Ethel Elliott of North Fort Myers, FL. and many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours will be held from 4Pm to 8Pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford.
A private burial will be held in the spring.
