Celia Lillian Capuano, age 99, of Medford died on Saturday, January 7, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Boston's North End, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Giovanna (Cataldo) Capuano. Celia moved to Medford in the 1950s and worked for many years at a book-binding company. She loved to travel and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Celia was the sister of the late Peter Capuano and his wife Josie, the late Rose M. Contardo and her husband Leonard, the late Frank G. Capuano and his wife Leah, and the late Lena Contrada and her husband Alfred. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, on Wednesday, January 11, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, from 10 through 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
