Nicola Caccavo, age 77 of East Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully, January 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Nick was the loving husband for 52 years of Elisa (Pirozzi) Caccavo. Born and raised in Naples, Italy, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Raffaella (Antignani) Caccavo. In 1960 at the age of 19, he came to the United States. In 1968 opened his hair salon, House of Glamour on Belmont Street, which he enjoyed operating until his recent illness. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam. A smart, hardworking man, Nick was devoted to his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed making wine, gardening, the outdoors, vacationing, dining out, people and travel.
He was the father of Cosimo Caccavo, owner of Raynham Ace Hardware, and his wife Nicole of Bridgewater, Lena Caccavo of Georgia and John Caccavo, employed at Scandia Kitchens, and his wife Tracy of Bridgewater; grandfather of Lianne, Ryan, Christina, Nicolas and Julia; brother of Sabina Roppolo and her husband Sal of Brockton, and uncle of two nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday 5-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 10:30am. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
